Born and raised in Redwood City, California.
Dawn has worked for The Starr’s for 38 years and is on her 3rd generation . Dawn loves the interaction with the patients and working for The Starr’s.
She is married to her husband, John, and she has two grown boys . Dawn loves to spend her spare time in their motorhome traveling.

Admin Assistant
Shay is the newest member of our team, joining in 2022. She has over 5 years of experience in the dental field and is passionate about helping patients have a positive experience.
She is an avid pet lover and enjoys spending her free time eating at new resturants, going to 49ner games, hiking, traveling and spending time with her family and freinds.
Rina
Registered Dental Assistant
Rina has been working as a registered dental assistant for 22 years. She is also cross trained in health care.
Rina is a mom with three athletic sons. In her spare time, she likes to travel and hike.
Rebecca
Registered Dental Hygienist
Rebecca has loved her career as a dental hygienist for more than 25 years, working in both periodontal and general offices. She has been with our office for the past ten years, where she’s had the pleasure of working with two generations of Dr. Starrs! Her goal is to keep her patients’ smiles beautiful and in good health.
Rebecca was raised on a small family sheep farm in Washington State. Her husband is a native Californian. They raised three children and just had their first grandchild, Lily, in 2021!
Aubra
Registered Dental Hygienist
Aubra is a California native and has been in the dental field for over 20 years. She began her career as a registered dental assistant, and later transitioned to become a dental hygienist. Her favorite thing about practicing dental hygiene is learning each patient's specific needs and helping them meet those individually while providing the highest quality of care.
When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and community outreach by serving meals to the unhoused in various shelters for men, women, and children.
Yi
Registered Dental Hygienist
Yi joins Dr. Starr’s office in 2021. She has been working as a hygienist since 2013. Initially, she was studying to be a nurse but became a hygienist by chance. She loves her job ever since.
Aside from work, she enjoys hiking, whale watching, and spending time with her dog. Her favorite season is winter.
Shannon
Shannon has been in dentistry for over 21 years and started out as a dental assistant. She fell in love with the preventative side of dentistry and went back to school to become a hygienist. She graduated in 2008 and joined the Starr practice. Most of her patients have been with her since then and she is dedicated to their health. She prides herself in connecting with her patients, having clear communication and empowering them through education and encouragement. She has lived in Redwood City most of her life and is married to her high school sweetheart. They have two little boys and enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding, road trips, photography and more.
